As a historian, some of his notable works include 1857 Kranti aur Krantidhara (National Book Trust), Pratap, Shivaji aur Chhatrasal (Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, which remained part of the state curriculum for two years), Bharatiya Thal Sena – Badhte Kadam (Kitabghar Publications), Dance to Freedom (Fingerprints), Subhas: Death That Wasn't (Prabhat Prakashan), and Maharshi Dayanand and the 1857 Uprising (Atlantic Publishers), among many others. He has also authored biographies of prominent personalities including Swami Ramdev, Indra Nooyi, Ratan Tata, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, and several others. His book 1857 Kranti aur Krantidhara received wide media coverage, while Pratap, Shivaji aur Chhatrasal was reviewed in the Government of India’s magazine Pustak Sanskriti. His work Dance to Freedom has been featured by major TV channels such as ABP and Aaj Tak, and discussed by popular podcasters and reviewers. His biography of Mukesh Ambani was ranked first by the Economic Times, and Aaj Tak Radio produced a program based on his biography of Sucheta Kripalani. Leading newspapers like Dainik Jagran and Amar Ujala, as well as news channels such as News Nation and India TV, have also highlighted his views. As an academic writer, some of his other works include Language Across the Curriculum, Understanding Disciplines and Subjects, and Text Reading and Reflections, which are taught in several universities. As a translator, he has worked on a wide range of books including The Battle of Rezang La (Penguin–NBT), Jyotipunj (written by Narendra Modi, published by Prabhat Prakashan), Gond, Komagata Maru, Bhoomi Suposhan (National Book Trust), among many others. Gandhi has also served as a mentor under the Prime Minister’s Young Author Scheme, under which three books by young writers were published by the National Book Trust under his guidance.
